Aquaman 3 (2025) – First Trailer | Timothée Chalamet, Jason Momoa

The first trailer for Aquaman 3 (2025) reveals that Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa) faces his greatest challenge yet when Orion Tide (Timothée Chalamet), a powerful exiled Atlantean sorcerer, returns to reclaim the throne. Orion awakens Leviathus, a legendary sea creature capable of wiping out civilizations. With Atlantis on the brink of destruction, Aquaman is forced to unite with his former enemy, Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II), to stop the impending catastrophe. The film’s climax sees Arthur unlocking Poseidon’s Trident, granting him godlike powers for the final battle. The ending hints at a major shift in Atlantis’ future.

Aquaman 3 is one of DC Studios’ biggest projects to date, boasting a massive $250 million budget, making it one of the most expensive superhero films ever produced. The film features cutting-edge underwater CGI, practical effects, and large-scale battle sequences, further elevating the franchise’s visual spectacle. A significant portion of the budget was allocated to Timothée Chalamet’s casting, special effects, and extensive underwater set designs.

The movie is set to release on December 19, 2025, aiming for a strong holiday season box office performance. Warner Bros. is betting big on its success, following the billion-dollar hit of Aquaman (2018) and the moderate performance of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023). Early test screenings have received highly positive reactions, with critics praising the chemistry between Momoa and Chalamet, as well as the darker, more mature storytelling.

The studio expects the film to surpass $1 billion globally, driven by its star-studded cast, high-stakes narrative, and visually stunning effects. Marketing campaigns will be extensive, including exclusive trailers at Comic-Con, IMAX previews, and promotional tie-ins with major brands.

If successful, Aquaman 3 could reshape DC’s cinematic universe, potentially setting up spin-offs and a new direction for future underwater adventures. Fans are eagerly anticipating whether Arthur Curry’s reign as King of Atlantis will continue—or come to a dramatic end.
