Survive II (2025) – Official Trailer | Émilie Dequenne, Andreas Pietschmann, Lisa Delamar

In Survive II (2025), a group of shipwreck survivors, led by Marie (Émilie Dequenne), washes up on a remote, frozen island. As they search for shelter, they realize they are not alone—the island is home to monstrous, ancient crab-like creatures that hunt relentlessly. With each attack, the survivors dwindle, and betrayals emerge under the pressure. Marie uncovers a hidden military bunker containing research on the creatures, revealing they were part of a failed bio-experiment. In a desperate finale, she lures the monstrous alpha crab into a collapsing ice cave, seemingly killing it—only for its glowing eyes to reappear in the final shot.

Survive II (2025) had a budget of $65 million, with a significant portion allocated to CGI for the monstrous crab creatures, intense survival sequences, and the film’s desolate, frozen island setting. The production team filmed in Iceland and Canada to capture the harsh winter landscapes, with additional CGI enhancements for the eerie atmosphere. Practical effects were blended with CGI to create a realistic monster design, making the creature feel as terrifying and tangible as possible.

Marketing costs accounted for $20 million, covering teaser campaigns, social media promotions, and a viral marketing stunt that included cryptic found-footage clips teasing the monster’s existence.

The film was released on October 17, 2025, just in time for the Halloween horror-thriller season. It had a strong opening weekend, grossing $45 million worldwide, with critics praising its intense survival elements, Émilie Dequenne’s gripping performance, and the terrifying design of the monster crabs. Audience word-of-mouth and online discussions boosted its momentum, leading to a final box office total of $220 million globally.

Streaming rights were sold to Netflix for $80 million, making it one of the most-watched horror-thrillers on the platform post-theatrical release. Due to its unexpected success, talks for Survive III are already in development, teasing even deadlier creatures beneath the ice.
